How Big Is a 1:10 Scale?
Last Updated Mar 31, 2020 3:38:00 AM ET
A 1:10 scale is the typical size used for action figures, and is equal to 1 inch of action figure representing 10 inches of the actual model. Realistic models use a scale system, which is the ratio of the size of the model versus the size of the actual object.
Popular action figures that are made in 1:10 scale include Mattel's DC Universe line of figures as well as the Marvel's Legends line of figures. Toy makers standardize their figures by basing them on a model that is about 6 feet tall; this makes the scaled action figure about 7 inches in height. The 1:10 scale is also commonly used for remote-controlled toys such as motorcycles and cars.
