Radio waves are used to transmit signals through the air, with the main benefit being that the only equipment necessary is a transmitter and receiver. There are no cables to string or holes to dig as the waves are simply transmitted from one place to another.
Radio waves flow all around and through the Earth’s atmosphere. They are the longest wavelength of the electromagnetic spectrum. Stereos, Cellphones and analog televisions all use radio waves to send and receive information. Probably the most interesting benefits of radio waves are its visualization properties; radio telescopes use this feature to measure radio waves emitted throughout the universe, creating a picture of various objects in the sky.
