Athletic DNA was started in 2007 by three top collegiate and professional athletes who wanted to represent the hard work and dedication needed to succeed in tennis. Their mission is to develop and encourage the athletic characteristics that make a world-class athlete. These athletic characteristics make up the athlete's DNA. The Athletic DNA attributes are focus, intensity, enthusiasm, respect, competitiveness and excellence. Athletes must rank a Tennis Recruiting Star Level of 2 or more to join Athletic DNA. Tennis professionals that are members of Athletic DNA as of 2014 are Alex Bogomolov Jr., Brian Baker, Dennis Nevolo, Ernesto Escobedo, Grace Min, Lauren Embree, Rajeev Ram, Sam Groth, Tennys Sandgren, Lleyton Hewitt, Evan King and Daniel Kosakowski.
