According to the University of Washington, the green lizard has the smallest brain. Referred to as Anolis Carolinensis, green anole or Carolina anole, the species has been studied by the scientific community.
Specific studies have included neurological disorders, drug delivery systems and biochemical pathways, all relevant to human illnesses. Scientific aspects such as physiology and animal behavior have also been reviewed.
The green anole is a popular pet store lizard. With its color-changing ability from green to brown, it is sometimes mistaken for a chameleon.
Typically found in the southeastern United States, introduction of the species is evident in Hawaii, Guam and other places.
