Where Do Wolf Spiders Live?

Wolf spiders are found in almost every country in the world. They are most commonly found in grasslands and meadows but also live in deserts, rain forests and wetlands.

There are about 2,300 different species of wolf spiders around the world, but only 200 species are found in the United States. They are usually brown, black or tan and may have dark stripes. Their size ranges from a quarter of an inch to over an inch. Wolf spiders have been known to bite humans when they are threatened, but the venom does minimal damage, causing redness and swelling but no serious problems.
