Weasels live in forests and open woodland areas and are native to North America, Asia, Europe and North Africa. They have also been introduced in other countries as a form of pest control.

Weasels are carnivorous animals, and their diets primarily consist of mice, voles and lemmings. They are powerful creatures for their size and sometimes prey on animals larger than themselves. They have sharp canine teeth, which allow them to tear through flesh.

Weasels are solitary animals, and the only time they tolerate one another is during mating. Female weasels have a lifespan of three years. In comparison, male weasels usually live less than a year. Male weasels travel great lengths to find a mate, making them more susceptible to predators.
