Discourage a dog from biting by providing her with bones and chew toys and making a high-pitched yelp noise when she bites. Avoid playing too rough with her, and praise her if she stops the behavior when admonished.
If she continues to bite, end play, and leave the room for a short time before coming back to continue. Another way deter biting in dogs is to spray a dog-safe taste deterrent on clothing and parts of the body the dog likes to bite. Understand that soft-biting during play is normal in dogs and is learned through group play with other puppies, but aggressive biting is not healthy behavior.
