To get rid of bedbugs without the use of chemicals, thoroughly clean the places where bed bugs are found in the infested area. This includes cleaning all washable and un-washable items. Items that can be washed such as bedding, linens, curtains and clothing should be washed in hot water and dried on the highest dryer setting. Items that can't be washed such as stuffed animals and shoes should be placed inside the dryer and run on high heat for 30 minutes.
To clean a mattress, use a stiff brush to scrub the seams in order to remove the bugs and their eggs. Vacuum the entire mattress as well as the floor of the surrounding area. Place the used vacuum bag inside of a plastic bag and immediately throw it away outside to prevent re-infestation. Place the mattress and box springs inside of a tightly woven, zippered cover to prevent any remaining bedbugs from entering or escaping. Store the mattress away for at least a year to allow all of the bedbugs to die.Learn more about Bugs
