Canine Performance Events, Inc., is a dog agility association in the United States. While CPE provides competitive titling opportunities in dog agility, it does not offer specific training programs. An independent dog trainer can help prepare a dog and its handler for competition in a CPE event.
Dog agility is a competitive sport in which a human handler guides a dog through an obstacle course. The handler generally uses vocal commands and hand signals, and the dog's performance is judged on its speed and accuracy in various trials. CPE promotes dog agility as a fun and positive training experience for both dogs and handlers. As of October 2014, dogs at least 15 months old are eligible to compete for six levels of titles in both standard and game classes at CPE events.
