Adult miniature Boston terriers typically weigh 10 pounds or less and stand no taller than 15 inches. They have short, smooth hair that doesn’t shed and is easy to groom. The mini Boston terrier usually has brown eyes, a black and white coat, and perky ears. The dog is a hybrid version with traits of the bulldog, bull terrier and boxer.
Mini Boston terriers have friendly, playful personalities and lots of spunk. They tend to be protective of their owners and families, but they keep barking to a minimum. The mini Boston is affectionate, loves to cuddle, and has a massive amount of energy, making it a good dog for families with children.
Mini Boston terriers tend to have significant chewing problems, so they need to have lots of chew toys on hand to avoid destruction of household items. Otherwise, the dog is quite intelligent, which makes it easy to train.
Because of its small size, the mini Boston terrier needs an inside home, although it enjoys walks outside and occasional outdoor play time. Its size makes it an ideal indoor dog, even for families in small apartments or homes with minimal space.
Miniature Boston terriers, like other small breeds, are prone to several health issues. Lung problems, vision issues, gas problems and heatstroke are among the top health concerns for the breed.
