Coyotes live in many different areas throughout North America including deserts, foothills, grasslands, mountainous areas and even urban areas. The reason that the coyote can live in all of these different places is because the coyote is highly adaptable when it comes to its eating patterns.
The coyote will eat many different kinds of prey from deer, mice, rodents, flowers, mesquite beans, lizards and birds to snakes and rabbits. Partially due to its adaptable nature, the coyote is not endangered or threatened. Geographically, coyotes will move to wherever they can find food. This area usually spans North America up to Alaska, across to New England and then down to Mexico.
