As of 2014, it is thought that scorpions have the most venom on average. Available measurements find that spiders' venom averages to 0.33 milligrams. Some scientists estimate that the average scorpion venom content is less than 0.5 milligrams.
While scientists have theories about the venom of both creatures, there is an inadequate amount of research in this field. A collation of several studies shows the average venom yield using electrical stimulation to milk scorpions ranges from 0.006 milligrams to 2.0 milligrams. The measurements of eight species of venomous spiders reveals venom contents that range from 0.02 milligrams to 2.15 milligrams.
