Services available at Pomeranian shelters begin when the shelter finds and rescues lost and abandoned Pomeranian dogs. Once the shelter has rescued a Pomeranian, it feeds and houses the dog while searching for its new home and owner.
Some Pomeranian shelters provide the service of spaying or neutering the dog before placing it in a new home. Other shelters charge a fee to provide this service along with vaccinations, flea and tick medication, and occasionally micro-chipping the dog. Some of the more advanced Pomeranian shelters work on training and socializing the dogs as well. Shelters may have a website or newspaper ad featuring specific current rescues including any knowledge of the dogs' pasts and useful information regarding each dog's temperament and personality.
