A red kangaroo mostly feeds on grasses and other vegetation. The animals graze, looking for green grass as they are herbivores.
Red kangaroos are native to Australia, and they travel miles from their domain to find fresh greens. They also feed on leaves. The animals are adapted to going long periods without water, but they will drink it if they come across a readily available source. The majority of water a kangaroo consumes is found in the plants or leaves they eat. They typically forage for food in the afternoons and early mornings. During the hottest part of the day, kangaroos take shelter.
