Red and white is a very common fur color in Siberian Huskies. The breed standard recognizes many different color variations and patterns, and red and white is one of the most prevalent in the breed.
Siberian Huskies are one of the more colorful breeds of dog, with the AKC recognizing over 10 different combinations from black and white to solid black. These dogs have thick fur with a dense undercoat that is waterproof and very resistant to extremely cold weather. Twice a year, this undercoat sheds profusely in a process called "blowing coat" and requires daily brushing with a rake-style dog comb.
