What Are Some of a Rabbit's Predators?

Being at the bottom of the food chain, rabbits are hunted by a variety of animals such as the red fox, black rat snake, bald eagle, barred owl and the common crow. A rabbit's predators often depend on the habitat in which the rabbit lives.

Depending on the area, rabbits are sometimes preyed upon by bobcats, cougars, coyotes or dingoes. Because they are such a tasty snack for a variety of animals, rabbits have learned to protect themselves by only coming out of their homes during sunrise and sunset. They also have numerous offspring with the hope that at least a few survive to adulthood.
