A Pomchi is a dog that is a cross between a Pomeranian and a Chihuahua. It is a mixed-breed dog and is also a breed recognized by the American Canine Hybrid Club.
Pomchis are also called chiranians, chi-poms and pomihuahuas. To be considered a true hybrid or "designer" breed, the dog must be the result of breeding a purebred Pomeranian with a purebred Chihuahua. Many breeders sell second- and third-generation mixes under the name as well.
Physical characteristics vary widely from one dog to the next. Pomchis are small dogs that typically weigh between 5 and 12 pounds and live an average of 15 years.
