Some organizations that rescue Weimaraners include Great Lakes Weimaraner Rescue, Weimaraner Rescue of Texas and Heartland Weimaraner Rescue. There are Weimaraner rescues located all around the United States.
The Great Lakes Weimeraner Rescue is a nonprofit rescue that works in the Great Lakes area, including Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Ohio. To adopt a pet from this rescue, potential pet parents must request and fill out an application and agree to a home visit. This rescue does not ship dogs. Available dogs are listed on the rescue's website.
The Weimaraner Rescue of Texas always has dogs ready for adoption. Located in Dallas, the rescue has a strict adoption policy and charges adoption fees ranging from $200 for senior dogs to $350 for puppies, as of 2015. To adopt from the Weimaraner Rescue of Texas, potential pet parents must demonstrate a good relationship with a veterinarian, and provide written permission from a landlord giving permission to own a large dog.
The Heartland Weimeraner Rescue serves states, such as Kansas, Oklahoma and surrounding areas. Like most rescues, Heartland will not ship pets, but the organization allows out of state adoptions. The organization also accepts Weimaraner surrenders, under certain circumstances.
Other Weimaraner rescues include Tri-State Weimaraner Rescue, Weimaraner Rescue of the South and Colorado Mile High Weimaraner Rescue.
