Some organizations that rescue Labradors include American Lab Rescue, Labs4rescue, Inc., Save A Lab Rescue, and Atlanta Lab Rescue. Most of these organizations are nonprofits that help Labradors find forever homes.
Rescued dogs undergo a veterinary screening and treatment and are then placed in foster homes for evaluation. Rescue organizations only offer Labradors with good social behavior for adoption. People who can't adopt can still help by sponsoring a dog or donating money to the organizations. This helps the organizations to meet the cost of treatment, medications and veterinary screening. Dogs also undergo vaccination and heartworm treatment and are neutered or spayed before adoption.
