Some organizations that offer Labrador dogs for adoption are Labs 2 Love Rescue, American Lab Rescue and Golden Gate Labrador Retriever Rescue. These organizations are dedicated to rescuing and finding safe and happy homes for homeless, neglected, abused and abandoned Labradors.
Located in Northern California, Labs 2 Love Rescue rescues Labradors that are at risk of abuse and neglect and those given up by their owners. The organization also takes in Labrador dogs that are at risk of euthanasia from pounds and local animal shelters. It provides veterinary care to dogs that require medical treatment and makes sure that the dogs are spayed/neutered and have received their complete deworming medications and vaccinations before they are deemed ready for adoption.
American Lab Rescue is a nonprofit rescue organization based on Willington, Connecticut. It is an all-breed rescue group but specializes in Labrador and Labrador mixes. ALR focuses on rescuing Labradors from pounds and shelters and is dedicated in finding permanent homes for the rescued dogs. Aside from adoptable dogs, the group also offers sponsorship, through which a person can help raise a Labrador without applying for dog adoption or foster care.
Golden Gate Labrador Retriever Rescue has been serving the San Francisco and San Jose Bay areas of Northern California since 1986. Its Available Lab page includes Labradors rescued by the group as well as dogs rescued from other shelters and by veterinarians. The GGLRR also accepts pre-approved adoptions, through which an interested adopter may donate to the group to receive early email notifications about adoptable Labradors that are yet to be posted on its website.
