What Is the Name of a Striped Antelope?

The name of a striped antelope is the bongo antelope. This antelope has a russet-colored coat with distinct beige stripes. Both male and female bongos have long horns that appear to cross at the tips.

Adult female bongos weigh up to 520 pounds, while males weigh up to 900 pounds. There are two subspecies of bongos: the lowland and the mountain bongo. As of 2014, both subspecies remain listed as near threatened on the IUCN Red List due to habitat loss and hunting. Antelope belong to the bovid family of species. There are 84 different types of antelope, and 72 of these live in Africa.
