An adult male English bulldog should weigh between 53 and 55 pounds, and an adult female should weigh between 49 and 51 pounds. In its first year of life, an English bulldog puppy increases its weight by 40 to 50 times.
Since English bulldog puppies grow at such a rapid rate, they need more calories than adults. They also need more calcium to support their growing skeletons. Bulldog puppies continue to grow until the age of 12 months. However, they do not reach maturity until the age of 18 months, so they should continue to be fed calorie-rich, nutritionally-enriched puppy food until this age.
