Miniature goats can cost anywhere from $75 to $300 on average, as of 2015. The cost depends on the age, sex, breed, registration and overall quality of the animal, among other factors.
Good-quality young does are usually the most expensive, ranging between $250 and $300. Bucks are in the middle of the range, and wethers, or neutered males, are the least expensive. Wethers are often neutered due to their low quality as breeding or show animals, but they make excellent pets. Does and bucks that have a proven breeding record may cost more than young, unproven ones or ones that have had trouble with pregnancy. Does are also sometimes sold as bred, which may increase the cost as the expected kids are included in the price.
