The mission of Standardbred Canada is to serve as a national leader that informs, inspires, drives and records information on standardbred breeding and racing in Canada. This mission statement goes hand-in-hand with the organization's vision statement of being recognized as an industry leader when it comes to standardbred horses.
Standardbred Canada was formed in 1998, when The Canadian Trotting Association and The Canadian Standardbred Horse's Society combined to form one incorporated nonprofit organization. In addition to its main mission, StandardBred Canada also provides support to member racetracks in the form of a representative who updates race data in real-time. Standardbred Canada also publishes TROT Magazine, which is included with all memberships in Standardbred Canada and is considered to be the top publication in the industry.
The strategic plan of StandardBred Canada includes providing excellent customer service that its customers value, investing in the most up-to-date technology, investing in and developing its people, and ensuring a sustainable business model with a responsible governance system. All of these goals help StandardBred Canada achieve its mandates of registering and identifying standardbred horses in Canada by keeping track of their pedigrees, maintaining records regarding the breeding and racing of Standardbreds in Canada, and promoting harness racing and Standardbred horses in Canada.
