How Long Do Huskies Live?

Siberian huskies have a life expectancy of 12 to 15 years. They are prone to several health issues including skin issues, hip dysplasia, juvenile cataracts, displacement of the urethra, corneal dystrophy and crystalline corneal opacities.

Regular hip and eye screenings are recommended to husky owners to keep their dogs in the best possible health. Huskies are active dogs and require daily exercise, but husky owners should be aware of the climate when exercising their dog in order to keep them from overheating. The breed has a thick double coat that is meant to withstand extremely low temperatures, and they can quickly become overheated in warmer climates.
