According to the University of Kentucky Department of Entomology, crab spiders are commonly neon green. These spiders are part of the Thomisidae family, and are also known as thomisids or thomisid crab spiders.
Crab spiders are characterized by their relatively flat body shape and their very long front legs, giving them a crablike appearance. When they walk, crab spiders hold their front legs up, using them sparingly for support while walking. Most thomisid crab spiders come in neon green, orange and yellow. They have eight eyes, which is characteristic of the family Thomisidae, and eight legs, which is characteristic of all spiders.
