When adopting a pet, some health questions to ask include those having to do with vaccines and illnesses. It is also helpful to know if the pet has undergone testing for any diseases, if it has been treated for parasites, and if there are any known health issues.
Pets require regular vaccines to ward off deadly diseases, so a prospective pet adopter needs to obtain a history of any vaccines the pet has previously received. Pets also require treatment for internal parasites, including roundworm, tapeworm and heartworm, as well as external pests such as fleas and ticks. The prospective adopter needs to know about any treatments the pet has had for these issues and the dates on which it received them. The potential owner must also be aware of any diseases or conditions the pet currently has or had in the past so that he can provide proper treatment.
