At YorkieRescue.com, the dogs are pre-vetted and are current on heartworm checks and vaccinations. A minimum donation of $150 is required in addition to a $25 microchip fee. YorkieRescue.com has a photo bank of available dogs, with each dog?s history, age, health status and adoption fee. This is a national, nonprofit group that has been finding homes for Yorkshire terriers since 1997.

YorkieRescueMe.com features adoptable dogs that are currently in foster care. The dog?s age, history, adoption fee and special needs are featured on the website. This group adopts to homes in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland and Delaware, as well as some parts of New York, Connecticut and Virginia. They give special preference to adopters who have had some experience with Yorkshire terriers, and they do not send dogs to homes where there are children under 10 years old. All applicants must be at least 25 years old with a stable home and career, and they are encouraged to meet the foster dog they are interested in before adopting.
