A German Shepherd lab mix is a dog breed created by mating two different breeds, the German Shepherd Dog and the Labrador Retriever. This dog mix is considered a "designer dog" or "hybrid dog" breed and has not yet been accepted into the American Kennel Club.
It is impossible to predict the aspects of the traits of the puppies in this union and each litter will demonstrate different qualities that come from both breeds. These dogs are also not considered healthier than their purebred counterparts. Anyone who purchases a German Shepherd lab mix can expect to get an energetic dog, as both breeds tend to have high energy levels.
