What Is a German Shepard Beagle Mix?

A German Shepard Beagle mix is a dog that has a mixture of two purebred dog breeds: the German Shepard and the Beagle. The German Shepard Beagle mix is considered a designer dog, but as of 2015, it has yet to receive an official designer dog name such as the Goldendoodle (Golden Retriever and Poodle mix), Morkie (Maltese and Yorkshire Terrier mix) or Cockapoo (Cocker Spaniel and Poodle).

The German Shepherd Beagle mix has a combination of traits from both breeds, including physical features and personality traits. The idea behind combining both breeds is to create a superior breed that has the best traits from each breed. To create the German Shepherd Beagle mix dog, the female is of one breed (either German Shepherd or Beagle) and the male is of the other.

There is no way to predict which features the dogs will have. Most of the time, the dogs will be in between the two different traits for a compromise. For example, the German Shepherd is highly intelligent and has high exercise needs while the Beagle has a strong nose and high exercise needs. Therefore, it is likely that the German Shepherd Beagle mix will have the high exercise needs that both breeds have, with a combination of a strong nose and high intelligence.
