Some quick, easy-to-make dog treats include frozen peanut butter and yogurt treats, basic dog biscuits and pumpkin balls. To make the peanut butter and yogurt treats, start with 1 cup of peanut butter and 32 ounces of vanilla yogurt.
Melt the peanut butter in a microwave, and combine it with the yogurt. Pour the mixture into cupcake paper molds, and freeze.
Basic dog biscuits can be made using 2 ½ cups of wheat flour, I teaspoon salt, 1 egg, 1 teaspoon chicken or beef stock, ½ cup of hot water, and additional add-ins such as bacon bits, liver powder or shredded cheese. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Combine all the ingredients, and knead into a ball for about three minutes. Roll the dough out until it is about ½ inch thick, and cut into slices, or use a bone-shaped cookie cutter to cut a shape. Place the slices on a pan that has been lightly greased, and bake in the oven for 30 minutes.
Pumpkin balls are made by mixing ½ cup of canned pumpkin with 4 tablespoons molasses, 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil and 4 tablespoons of water in a large bowl. Add 2 cups of whole wheat flour and ¼ teaspoon each of baking soda and baking powder. A teaspoon of cinnamon can also be included, but is optional. Stir until the dough softens, then roll balls with wet hands. Place them on a cookie sheet, using a fork to flatten them, and bake for 25 minutes or until they are firm and hardened.
