Some dog food products that have been recalled include OC Raw Dog, Nylabone products and Tuffy's Pet Foods. Many dog foods are recalled because of the potential for Salmonella contamination.
OC Raw Dog voluntarily recalled 2055 lbs of Turkey and Produce Raw Frozen Canine Formulation because of potential Salmonella contamination. Salmonella is an organism that causes severe sickness and fatal infections. Animals with Salmonella infections show signs of fever, decreased appetite, abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting and lethargy. Blood may be found in their stool and vomit. Children and elderly people are highly susceptible and should wash hands thoroughly after handling pet food.
