Any bloodline of pit bulls require a high-protein diet since they are a large breed. It is necessary to pay attention to commercial food labels as many have reduced proteins.
Bully breeds are large stocky dogs. They need many nutrients to keep them healthy. Keep the fat content of the food to a minimum. High calories tend to decrease metabolism. The food should be 30-40 percent protein, 14-17 percent fat and less than 30 percent carbohydrates. Do not overfeed the puppies. Give them a few small meals a day, instead of just leaving food in their bowls at all times. Consulting a vet is a good idea to help determine the best diet for the puppy.
