Where Do Deer Live?

Deer live in different countries around the world, including Canada and the United States. Deer are found in nearly all states in the U.S. except Alaska and Hawaii.

Deer are found in different habitats, such as mountains, forests and plains. They typically dwell in areas that offer shelter and those that offer a wide abundance of resources. In some areas, deer pose a risk to crops, as they can wander off and feed on the vegetation. The incidence of deer inhabiting urban areas is growing as they move to locate available food sources. When looking for a suitable home, deer search for areas where water and a variety of plants are found. Once they establish a range, they rarely stray far from it, and they use plants and pine needles as bedding.
