Reputable breeders and shelters price kittens based on breed, health and medical history, including vaccinations and vet checks, rather than subjective criteria such as cuteness. Many people differ in their opinions of cuteness in cats in any case, as shown by the popularity of the rather wrinkly hairless breeds.
Some breeders charge extra for breed points, such as particular coloration or anomalies like odd colored eyes or unusual ear shapes. These are usually based on the demand for such features rather than aesthetic judgements, however. Shelters rarely apply such criteria, though they do encourage adopters to look at all of the animals rather than having a fixed ideal in mind.
