Gustave is a giant Nile crocodile of the central African country of Burundi, known for an insatiable appetite for human flesh. The feared reptile is reportedly responsible for as many as 300 deaths along the shores of Lake Tanganyika and the banks of the Ruzizi River.
Reports have placed Gustave at more than 20 feet in length and in excess of 2,000 pounds. Numerous unsuccessful attempts have been made to capture or kill the legendary reptile, which inspired the 2007 film "Primevil," about a crocodile that terrorized humans on water and land. According to "National Geographic," the most recent sightings came during the same year. As of September 2014, the creature's whereabouts are unknown.
