The mix between a Cardigan Welsh corgi and a basset hound produces a hybrid breed called a corgi basset. These dogs are alert, loving, social and intelligent. They make excellent family pets.
The corgi basset ranges in color including black, black and tan, red and white. Its coat may be dense or fine and of short or medium length. This hybrid mix has a life expectancy of 12 to 15 years and weighs between 30 and 60 pounds. This animal requires plenty of exercise and play opportunities to keep its weight under control. The corgi basset breed is not a purebred and cannot be registered with the American Kennel Club or its subsidiary, the Foundation Stock Service.
