The American Toad, Bufo americanus, is the most common type of toad in North America. It can be found in most areas of eastern Canada and the United States. It is often found in parks, yards, farmland, prairies, mountain areas and forests.
The common toad, Bufo bufo, is another common type of toad. They can be found in Scandinavia in the north to northwest Africa, and from Portugal extending as far east as Lake Baikal in Siberia. They are found wherever there are water sources, including gardens, oases, springs, canals and small rivers. They can also be found in locations that are far distances from water.
