Cheetahs drink water. Like nearly all other animals, cheetahs require water to support vital internal processes. They can, however, live up to 10 days without any water.
Cheetahs live in the African grasslands and usually stay within close distance to watering holes. During the dry season, though, water can be hard to find. Cheetahs have adapted to surviving extended periods without water in a unique way. Their bodies are able to extract water from the blood and body fluids of their prey. They consume about 6 to 8 pounds of meat per day, which allows them go for days without water.
