When purchasing a lovebird, it is important to note that the bird is energetic, its feathers are not fluffed and it does not have any discharge coming from its mouth and nose. A love bird that is lingering on the bottom of its cage is showing signs of illness.
Lovebirds are very social and require at least 30 minutes of attention daily. A single lovebird will bond well with its owner, but if the owner is unable to provide enough attention, it is recommended to purchase a second lovebird as a companion.
