As of August 2015, Great Lakes Mastiff Rescue includes a list of other mastiff rescue groups on its website, GLMR.org. Some mastiff rescues also list available dogs on the pet adoption directory PetFinder.com.
Although the mastiff family includes a number of breeds, the breed most commonly known as a mastiff is the English Mastiff. This large, medium-energy dog is known for its courage, loyalty and good nature. Rescue organizations like Great Lakes Mastiff Rescue adopt out surrendered mastiffs to carefully screened new homes. Adoption fees are typically based on the dog's age. Most rescues network with other rescues, and transportation for rescued dogs can often be arranged if you don't have access to a local rescue.
