An American Kennel Club specific list of dog breeds appears on the AKC website. A more comprehensive list of dog breeds appears on the Wikipedia page "List of dog breeds." Both lists include at least one photo of each breed as well as some additional information.
The Wikipedia article includes breed names, photos, countries of origin and group designations from seven registration agencies, including the American Kennel Club.
The American Kennel Club and Wikipedia lists both include links to a summary of each breed. Unlike the breed list curated by the American Kennel Club, the list provided on Wikipedia includes breeds that are recognized by any registration organization. For example, the list includes the Berger Blanc Suisse, which is recognized and listed by the Fédération Cynologique Internationale but not by the American Kennel Club.
The Wikipedia list also includes some extinct breeds. In addition to the aforementioned Wikipedia page and the American Kennel Club website, there are several dog breed encyclopedias and lexicons. Six of these appear in the reference section for the Wikipedia list, so they provide additional information on breeds touched on in the list. The Wikipedia page and the AKC website lists both display the breed names alphabetically.
