Baby bearded dragons can eat vegetables. It is recommended that a young bearded dragon's diet consist of 20 percent greens, with meat making up the remainder. Do not try to feed a baby dragon large pieces of any kind of vegetable.
Leafy greens should make up most of vegetables in a baby bearded dragon's diet. Experts suggest that fruit should make up the smallest portion of a juveniles diet. When it is young, encourage it to eat a variety of fruits, veggies and greens that include:
- Grated carrots
- Dandelion greens
To prevent intestinal blockage and choking hazards, do not feed a baby bearded dragon food larger than its mouth. Make sure insects and fruits and vegetables are shredded into small enough pieces for them to eat safely. Mix them up so the baby bearded dragon does not become a finicky eater.
