RescueShelter.com contains a list of Bullmastiff rescues by state. Only eight states, including Oklahoma and Mississippi, do not have rescues. Ohio contains the most, including Bullmastiff Rescuers, Inc. and Happy Go Lucky Mastiffs Rescue. Most rescues listed on the site are not specific to Bullmastiffs, but either have or accept bullmastiff dogs. Many rescues are multistate, including Happy Go Lucky Mastiffs Rescue.

The American Bullmastiff Association Rescue Service is a service of the American Bullmastiff Association. It rescues abandoned, owner surrender and shelter Bullmastiff dogs and helps place them in permanent homes. All of the dogs are sprayed or neutered prior to adopt adoption.

The Rescue Barn is a private organization that rehabilitates all mastiff and cane corso breeds. Due to the rehabilitation process, the organization only takes a few dogs at a time. East Coast Gentle Giants Rescue accepts owner surrendered and shelter rare breed mastiffs including Bullmastiffs and Tibetan Mastiffs. Based out of Virginia, it serves the entire east coast of the United States. Each rescue requires potential adopters to fill out an application.
