Shih Tzus can grow up to 16 pounds and up to 11-inches tall. The Shih Tzu’s body is just a little longer than it is tall, so they are sturdy dogs.

These dogs are a good choice for people who have limited space, such as those who live in an apartment, because they do not require a lot of room. They have abundant energy, so regular exercise is a must. The frame of the dog’s body makes this breed prone to spinal disc disease because the dog’s rear is slightly higher than the front. Shih Tzus can live up to 15 years.
