How Big Are Miniature Dalmatians?

The creator of Miniature Dalmatians, Gene Connell, says they vary in size, with most maturing at under 12 inches tall and around 18 to 24 pounds. The puppies sold by Gene Connell are required to be neutered; therefore his kennel, Mascot Dalmatians, is the only source of Miniature Dalmatians.
Miniature Dalmatians are said to have been bred down in size from only purebred Dalmatians; however, the Miniature Dalmatians being sold are not registered with the American Kennel Club. The bone structure and coloration of Miniature Dalmatians suggest they originated from cross-breeding Dalmatians with a small breed, such as an Italian Greyhound.
