A German shepherd-pit bull mix grows to about 60 to 80 pounds and can stand 17 to 26 inches tall, but its size depends on the size of its parents. Size also varies based upon the type of pit bull used for breeding.
A shepherd-pit bull mix shares physical and behavioral characteristics of both breeds, but sometimes looks more like a shepherd. This is potentially because shepherds have more dominant traits as a result of being genetically closer to their wolf ancestors.
As a larger dog, this mix requires regular exercise. It also needs lots of socialization, since both pit bulls and German shepherds can be aggressive or extremely shy if not properly introduced to other dogs and humans.
