There are no big cats or any other land animals in the world faster than the cheetah. The cheetah is the fastest land animal on earth.
A cheetah can go from zero to 60 miles per hour in three seconds. The world record for speed is held by a cheetah named Sarah, who broke the record in 2012 by reaching a speed of 61 miles per hour, completing a 100-meter dash in 5.95 seconds. Cheetahs use their incredible speed to chase prey, such as antelopes and hares. They are very nimble and can maneuver quickly during the chase, making sudden turns in pursuit of prey.
