Bengal tigers are avid hunters of both large and small mammals, preferring to eat buffalo, deer and pigs. Bengal tigers will eat almost any mammal it can take down, including humans.
Bengal tigers use their unique stripe patterns to camouflage themselves in the wild. A tiger will use its sight and hearing to look and listen for prey, relying very little on smell. While the tiger will focus a hunt on deer-sized animals like horses, goats and moose, it will also attempt to take down larger animals like elephants and bears.
There are tigers that will prey on humans and attack people in rural, primitive villages in India. However, this is not the norm for Bengal tigers that have access to an ample supply of prey and can hunt freely.
