What Is Being Done to Protect Tigers?

Activist groups like the World Wildlife Fund are working to prevent poaching, protect tiger habitats, decrease the demand for tiger products and increase education and awareness about tigers in local communities to help increase the overall population of tigers. The number of tigers is down to around 3,200 from 100,000 in the last century.

Activist groups are working hard to maintain habitats where the tigers can mate and increase in number. By focusing on areas where the tigers have the best chance of survival, activists are hoping that political changes and proper funding will allow tigers to grow in number. Non-activists can help by donating money to help protect habitats and establish new breeding grounds.
